We can pick them up, or you can put household batteries (e.g. rechargeable, alkaline, button) inside a tightly sealed plastic bag, and place them on top of your closed landfill bin. Please tape both ends of all lithium batteries. For commercial customers we can coordinate battery bucket exchanges with Recology.

It’s actually against the law to put it in the garbage. Paint can clog pipes, and cause other issues. At SF Recology, they recycle and reuse most paint received at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility. Drop off is free to residents. You can drop up to 5 gallons off for free, or contact our team to handle larger quantites. 

Recovering cooking oil is important since it clogs our City’s water systems and poses a threat to piping – not to mention that used oils can be reused as biofuel. Solidified oil, such as lard or bacon grease, can be placed into your green composting bin for collection and recycling. Have larger quantites? Give us a call for pick up.

Any of the above chemicals, plus other such as household cleaners, drain openers, and more are not safe to dump in your garbage as they will pollute the landfill. Contact our team for safe pick up and disposal.
